About Momma Lamm
Leona "Momma" Lamm
On October 29, 1908 in a rural farming community in Dark County, Ohio called Cranberry Prairie, Leona Dillhoff was born. At eighteen years old Leona moved to Dayton , Ohio and worked for a family there until she met and married Charles Lamm of Fort Recovery, Ohio. They were married on October 29, 1931 in Coldwater, Ohio. Living in Dayton, Charles and Leona raised three children, John, Richard and Marilyn. Leona's son John and his wife Anita moved to Waynesville and opened Village Pizza in April 1980. Later they change the name to The Village Family Restaurant. Momma Lamm would often help around the restaurant clearing tables and cleaning. As the business grew and more salads were offered, Momma Lamm was asked to make her poppy seed salad dressing to the delight of our customers. The restaurant has continued to serve the community for over 25 years and still serves the poppy seed dressing. Over the years, there have been many requests to bottle and sell it. We hope you enjoy it as much as our family and customers have.
